In 1982, we opened George’s Plaice, to satisfy people’s fish and chip cravings. The graft was hard and the days were long, but we soon became a household name in Wigton.
After many long years with George’s Plaice, we turned our attention to Carlisle city centre, who we thought were missing out on the famous dish – within 8 months The Fryery chip shop in Carlisle came to life.
With 3 generations of the Hendren family making up The Fryery team, we work together, day in and day out, to serve up the best fish and chips in Carlisle. We value one another, enjoy spending time together, and ultimately love making delicious fish and chips as a team and a family.
